The rules specific to enrolling in a programme (fees, attendance, certificate) are set out in the programme membership conditions.

1. Purpose

These terms of use (the "Terms") define the conditions under which Ethos EPB ("Ethos", "we") provides ethosepb.com and its services, and the commitments of each user ("you", "the user").

2. Definitions

  • Site: ethosepb.com and all its pages and services.
  • Programme: a training programme offered by Ethos, including Ethos Academy and Ethos Campus.
  • Cohort: the group of participants following the same programme over the same period.
  • Applicant: anyone who submits an application to a programme.
  • Learner: an applicant whose application has been accepted and whose enrolment is confirmed.
  • Mentor: a professional who supports learners on behalf of Ethos.
  • Alumni: a learner who has completed a programme.
  • Member area: the learner's personal online space; Mentor area: the mentor's.
  • Community: the Ethos community, its discussion groups, workshops and events.
  • Keryx: an ambassador of the KERYX programme.
  • Scholarship: a reduction of the programme fees granted by Ethos to some applicants.

3. Acceptance of the Terms

Using the site means accepting these Terms. When applying, requesting a scholarship or joining the KERYX programme, this acceptance is confirmed by ticking the box provided. If you do not accept these terms, you must not use the services concerned.

4. Access to the site

The site is free to access for anyone with an internet connection. Connection and equipment costs remain the user's responsibility.

Ethos strives to keep the site available at all times but cannot guarantee it. Access may be interrupted for maintenance, updates or technical issues, without giving rise to compensation.

5. Applying to a programme

5.1 Free of charge. Applying to a programme is completely free. No payment is requested before your application is accepted. Ethos never asks for payment through any channel other than the official payment page of the site: report any suspicious request to us.

5.2 Sign-in. The application form requires signing in with a Google account, to secure your file and avoid duplicate applications.

5.3 Accurate information. You agree to provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information and to apply in your own name. Any false statement may lead to the rejection of the application, the cancellation of a scholarship or exclusion from the programme, including after it has started.

5.4 One application per cohort. Only one application per person and per cohort is accepted. Duplicate applications may be deleted.

5.5 Selection. Each application is reviewed by the admissions team. An interview may be required: the applicant books a slot online and agrees to attend or to warn us if unable to. As places are limited, an application may be put on a waiting list.

5.6 Decision. Ethos is free to accept or decline an application without giving reasons. The decision is sent by email. An accepted application gives access to the payment page; enrolment is only confirmed after payment, under the membership conditions.

5.7 Partner codes. Some programmes, such as Ethos Campus, are reserved for students of partner institutions and require a partner code. This code belongs to the institution and must not be shared publicly.

6. Scholarships

6.1 Principle. Each session, Ethos offers a limited number of scholarships that reduce programme fees. They are granted based on motivation, situation and commitment, within the places available.

6.2 Conditions. Requesting a scholarship requires having already applied to a programme and accepting the conditions published on the scholarship page, including: completing the whole programme, paying the remaining fees, providing accurate information and taking an active part in cohort life.

6.3 ID document. A copy of an ID document is requested to verify the applicant's identity. It is handled under the privacy policy.

6.4 Decision. Ethos freely decides on the award of scholarships. The decision is sent by email and need not be justified.

6.5 Dropping out. A recipient who drops out of the programme without a legitimate reason accepted by Ethos becomes liable for the amount of the scholarship granted. A scholarship obtained with false information is cancelled.

6.6 No combination. A scholarship is personal, non-transferable and cannot be combined with another Ethos scholarship for the same session.

7. Member and mentor areas

7.1 Creation. The member area is opened by Ethos once enrolment is confirmed. The learner receives an Ethos ID and a password.

7.2 Confidential credentials. Your credentials are strictly personal. You are responsible for keeping them confidential and for the use of your account. Sharing an account with someone else is prohibited. In case of loss or fraudulent use, inform the team immediately.

7.3 Use. The member area is used to follow the programme: missions, evaluations, mentoring sessions, opportunities, certificate. It must not be used for other purposes.

7.4 Closure. Ethos may suspend or close an account in case of breach of these Terms or of the membership conditions, after informing the user except in an emergency.

8. Code of conduct

Ethos is a community built on respect and mutual support. On the site, in online and in-person sessions, in discussion groups and at events, every member agrees to:

  • respect other members, mentors, speakers and the team, whatever their origin, gender, religion, disability or opinions;
  • make no insulting, discriminatory, hateful, violent or sexual remarks;
  • engage in no form of harassment, intimidation or pressure;
  • not canvass, spam or send unsolicited promotion to other members;
  • not present someone else's work as their own (plagiarism, copied missions);
  • not share other members' personal information without their consent;
  • not record or share sessions, discussions or materials without permission;
  • not try to access an account, data or part of the site not intended for them, nor disrupt its operation.

Any breach may lead to a warning, suspension of access to the community or online areas, or permanent exclusion, depending on how serious it is.

9. Intellectual property

9.1 Ethos content. The curricula, course materials, videos, templates, exercises, methods and tools provided by Ethos remain its property. They are for personal use within the programme. Reselling, sharing or reusing them to train others is prohibited without Ethos's written consent.

9.2 Learners' work. The projects, portfolios, offers and work produced by the learner during the programme remain their property. The learner allows Ethos to present them, on a non-commercial basis, to illustrate programme outcomes, with their name, unless they object in writing.

10. Image rights and testimonials

Photos and videos may be taken during in-person sessions and Ethos events. By taking part, you agree that Ethos may use them to present its activities (site, social networks, communication materials), without payment. You can object at any time, for the future, by writing to ethosepb@gmail.com.

A testimonial is only published with its author's consent, and they can ask for its removal at any time.

11. Opportunities and partners

Ethos may share opportunities (assignments, internships, jobs, funding, acceleration programmes) offered by partners. Ethos selects these partners carefully, but is not a party to the relationship between the learner and the partner and does not guarantee that an opportunity will be obtained.

12. KERYX ambassador programme

KERYX ambassadors agree to present Ethos honestly, without promising results or giving inaccurate information about programmes, fees or scholarships. Commissions are calculated on enrolments actually paid through their personal link, under the conditions on the KERYX page. Ethos may end the participation of an ambassador who does not follow these rules.

13. Liability

13.1 Best efforts. Ethos commits to using all reasonable means to provide quality support. A learner's results (income, clients, employment, funding) depend on their involvement and on external factors: Ethos does not guarantee any financial or professional result.

13.2 Testimonials. Published testimonials reflect their authors' experience and are not a promise of identical results.

13.3 Use of the site. Ethos is not liable for damage resulting from misuse of the site, a service interruption, the user's equipment or connection, or the content of third-party sites linked from the site.

13.4 User's responsibility. Users are responsible for the information they provide and the content they post or share in the community.

14. Personal data

The processing of your personal data is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these Terms.

15. Changes to the Terms

Ethos may change these Terms, in particular for a new service or a change in regulations. The version in force is the one published on the site, with its update date. The conditions accepted when you enrolled in a cohort continue to apply to that cohort, unless a change is in your favour.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the law of Benin. In case of disagreement, please contact us first at ethosepb@gmail.com so we can look for an amicable solution together. Failing agreement within 30 days, the dispute may be brought before the competent courts of Cotonou.

17. Contact

For any question about these terms: ethosepb@gmail.com, WhatsApp +229 43 69 44 65, or the contact form.
